Job Overview
We are recruiting experienced chefs of all levels — from Chef de Partie to Lead Chef — to join our team working at Sunderland Football Club throughout the season. This exciting role offers the opportunity to be part of the match day experience at one of the North East’s most iconic venues.
Each booking will consist of 5 working days — 4 preparation days followed by 1 match day — ensuring consistent, high-quality delivery and smooth kitchen operations.
You will work as part of a talented brigade of chefs across a variety of kitchens to deliver outstanding food and service for players, VIPs, and supporters alike. You’ll run a section efficiently, support your team, and contribute to the success of each event.
Experience Required
Experience in large-scale banqueting or event catering is highly desirable. However, if you have at least 3 years of experience as a chef in a fast-paced environment and take pride in producing quality food under pressure, we want to hear from you. Hard-working, skilled chefs with a great attitude are always welcome.
Pay Range: £15–£20 per hour (depending on role and experience)

Requirements
1. Valid Food Safety Level 2 and Food Allergen certificates (we can provide training if required)
2. Preferably NVQ Level 1, 2, or 3 in Professional Cookery (or equivalent experience)
3. Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
4. Eligible to work in the UK
5. Own knives and knife case
6. Uniform: chef whites, trousers, and safety shoes (own aprons a bonus)
Responsibilities
7. Prepare and cook food to the required specification
8. Assist with menu creation and prep during pre-match days
9. Maintain kitchen cleanliness and hygiene to the highest standards
10. Manage stock control, waste, and portioning efficiently
11. Work collaboratively with Front of House and Management teams
12. Comply with all Health & Safety, Food Hygiene, and COSHH regulations
