Offer description

Do you want to work in a team where you can shape someone’s first experience of mental health services, share your opinions, knowledge and expertise and make a difference, use evidence based interventions, be involved in research and receive training and awareness in the interventions we deliver?

We are looking for a Mental Health Nurse (RMN), Learning Disability Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Social worker who is passionate about supporting service users in their recovery, engaging and involving families in care planning and using formulation to help service users understand their experiences?

If this is you then the North Tyneside Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) Team would love you to join the team.

The post is a Band 6 Community Practitioner role working across North Tyneside, offering interventions to 14 – 65 year olds who are thought to be developing a first episode of psychosis.

You will work as part of a Multi disciplinary Team (MDT), be involved in assessing and providing interventions to service users as well as supporting families, whilst also working collaboratively with other professionals. The service is committed to developing the skills of practitioners, so there will be opportunities to develop further clinical skills. You will be involved in care co-ordination, but with a caseload of 15 allowing greater opportunity to offer interventions / treatment.

In the Role As a Community Practitioner You Will

* Triage referrals and allocate for assessment where appropriate.
* Undertake initial assessment, feedback to MDT.
* Act as point of contact for referrals and calls where they are not able to wait.
* Manage a complex caseload, complete risk assessment and care planning, liaise with other professionals within and external to the team.
* Effectively deliver evidence based interventions and support care planning.

We aim to attract and retain a diverse, talented and committed workforce, who are caring and compassionate, and therefore able to meet the demands of the modern NHS now and in the future. In return we can offer a dynamic working environment in which to build a career.

NHS Employees identified as at risk of compulsory redundancy and those eligible for the NENC Re-Deployment careers hub will receive prior consideration.
