We are looking for talented Project Managers, ideally with consultancy experience, to join us at Expleo. This client-facing role will lead projects collaborating with our clients across a wide range of IT deliveries.
The successful candidate will be able to work independently and communicate effectively with stakeholders, as well as internal and external teams. The programme follows a Waterfall process, working with partners who may use Agile methodologies, so solid experience with both methodologies is desirable.
You will be expected to be on-site with clients in Buckinghamshire 1-2 days per week or as the programme requires.

Responsibilities
* Planning: Build and maintain detailed project plans, ensuring alignment with overall programme objectives
* RAID Management: Identify, manage, and mitigate Risks, Assumptions, Issues, and Dependencies
* Finance Management: Monitor project budgets, ensuring cost-effective delivery.
* Reporting: Provide regular status updates to stakeholders, highlighting progress, risks, and issues.
* Quality Management: Ensure all deliverables meet the required quality standards.
Qualifications
* Desirable Certifications: MAPM, Scrum Master, PMP, Prince2
Essential skills
* Strong understanding of the systems development lifecycle.
* The ability to understand and lead the construction of system & data integrations
* Excellent client-facing skills
* Strong understanding of Waterfall methodologies
* Strong understanding of Agile (Kanban & Scrum)
* Experience of working with Programme and Project managers in large deployments
* People management skills - the ability to lead and focus teams in complex projects
* Strong self-management - continuous performance is both an objective and a mind-set
* Desire to continue to build IT domain knowledge- tools, applications, platforms
* Desire to embrace and work withing new industries
* Microsoft Project
* Strong communication skills in English are essential for effectively interacting with clients
Experience
* Experience of leading large scale projects (specialising in one of more - systems development, infrastructure projects, data projects) involving business process and change, organisation change, and multiple large-scale technology components
* Experience leading Waterfall & Agile Scrum projects.
* Experience within the automotive industry or energy industry is desirable but not essential

Role: Project Engineering Manager – IoT and Smart Data

How will you make a difference?
In this role you will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex engineering projects, including the development and deployment of a large-scale IoT platform. You will be responsible for coordinating cross-functional teams, ensuring projects meet quality standards, timelines, and budget requirements.
The role requires expertise in managing both software and hardware engineering projects, particularly in environments that involve cloud technologies, IoT devices, cybersecurity, and DevOps practices.
As a Project Engineering Manager, you will work closely with the Lead Architect – IoT Edge & Cloud, the Lead Cybersecurity, DevOps, and UX Manager, and other technical leaders to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and effectively.
What will your typical day look like?
* Define scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines.
* Manage resources, budget, and risks.
* Ensure projects are on time and within budget.
* Work with engineering, product management, and other stakeholders.
* Act as the main contact between teams and business functions.
* Establish performance metrics to monitor project progress, using project management tools and methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, or Kanban.
* Provide regular status updates, reports, and presentations to senior leadership and stakeholders, highlighting risks, issues, and achievements.
* Collaborate with technical leads to ensure that engineering resources are aligned with project goals and that technical challenges are addressed.
* Identify and mitigate risks. Develop contingency plans and handle scope changes.
* Oversee third-party vendors and ensure they meet requirements. Assist with contract negotiations.
* Mentor team members and collaborate with HR for hiring. Promote professional development.
* Maintain relationships with stakeholders. Facilitate meetings and ensure clear communication.
What do we want to know about you?
* Proven work experience as a Project Engineer, Project Manager, Project Engineering Manager, or related position.
* Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, Project Management, or a related field is desirable.
* Certification in Project Management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile, Scrum, PMP) is desirable.
* Proven experience leading cross-functional teams in complex, high-tech environments, ideally within IoT, cloud infrastructure, or industrial automation sectors.
* Experience in project management, managing large-scale technical or engineering projects.
* Exposure to Agile methodology and working with Agile development teams.
