Site Engineer – Major UK Infrastructure Project

A major infrastructure programme within a secure UK defence facility is seeking an experienced Site Engineer to support the delivery of complex civil engineering works. This is a long-term, high-profile project offering excellent career development, exposure to reinforced concrete structures, and the chance to work within one of the most significant redevelopment programmes in the region.
The Role
You will support the Engineering Lead with ensuring technical compliance, quality, safety and progress across your allocated section of works. The position is ideal for someone who thrives in highly controlled environments and enjoys delivering precision-driven engineering tasks.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the preparation of as-built drawings and maintain the drawing register.
* Assist in developing quality systems, check sheets, and carrying out on-site inspections.
* Set out works within required tolerances using total stations, GPS, levels and other survey equipment.
* Record and test materials/workmanship (e.g., drainage, concrete, piling, brickwork).
* Assist with technical queries, problem solving, and engineering support.
* Keep daily diaries, update trackers, and contribute to project progress monitoring.
* Support procurement of materials and ensure equipment is delivered with valid calibration certificates.
* Prepare clear site sketches and communicate setting-out information effectively.
* Promote and uphold site safety, environmental and quality standards.
What We’re Looking For
* Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent (BSc, BEng, MEng, EngTech, etc.).
* Working toward professional accreditation (ICE, IStructE or similar) is advantageous.
* Strong experience with Leica GPS, Total Station, and digital/optical levels.
* Proven understanding of reinforced concrete structures and system formwork.
* Experience with QMS processes and writing RAMS.
* Strong organisational, communication, and people-management skills.
* IT-literate and comfortable updating trackers, diaries and quality records.
* Flexible with occasional weekend or out-of-hours work.
* CSCS (White AQP) and Supervisor HSE test.

* Temporary Works Supervisor/Coordinator
* First Aid at Work
* Experience developing ITPs
* SSSTS
* Groundworks, earthworks and RC experience
* Exposure to nuclear or high-security environments

Due to the nature of the site, BPSS clearance is required.
