Overview
Lead Commercial Manager for Ocado accountable for representing the customer both internally and externally as well as leading the internal cross functional team to deliver business objectives.
Wider cross functional team leadership spanning finance, customer operations, category, shopper marketing and sales operations.
This role offers great experience within sales as it offers exposure to the fast-growing and exciting eCommerce area, is a leading sales role, and allows management of all brands (Birds Eye, Aunt Bessie’s, Goodfella’s and own label) which provides a well-rounded business grounding.
Responsibilities
Business Planning & Targets
1. Delivery of the sales and profit targets for Ocado
2. Define and communicate the long (3-5 year) and short-term (annual plan) strategy for Ocado and ensure delivery and accountability is taken cross functionally to execute
3. Deliver accuracy and timeliness of required administration
4. Responsible for maintaining an accurate forecast including Risks and Opportunities
5. Negotiate and deliver annual JBP’s
6. Deliver and land cost inflation when required
Business Execution
7. Responsible for all commercial proposals. NPD, Promotional planning
8. Responsible for tracking commercial performance of the category plans both internally and externally
9. Deliver the eCommerce business objectives defined by the eCommerce channel team. drive for best-in-class Brilliant Basics
10. Track performance to make decisions in course of action and day to day management of accounts. Apply expert knowledge and insights to divert focus and inform actions if needed
11. Tight control of spend across media, category data and promotions to benefit the P&L
12. Align with the Shopper Marketing team to enhance key brand initiatives surrounding event activation to drive ROI forward
People
13. Manage cross functional team to support on delivering account objectives and ensuring Ocado is adequately supported.
14. Managing the external customer relationships ensuring communication with pace and aligning internal touchpoints to showcase cross functional expertise
15. Support the eCommerce & Pureplay Controller / BUD for T2T discussions
16. Align with the customer operations planner to ensure availability and service levels hit targets
17. Ensuring promotions, media, and stock are aligned to activation plans

Qualifications
Essential
19. Have worked as an account manager previously, ideally in FMCG
20. x 3 years FMCG experience
21. Negotiation and selling skills / experience
22. Strong influencing and communication skills
23. Commercial acumen preparing and negotiating proposals
24. Demonstrate strong understanding of shopper / market insights and how they relate to eCommerce
25. Strategic thinker able to develop a clear vision for the Pureplay channel
26. Great understanding of Microsoft Office particularly Excel (vlookups/conditional formatting
27. Good time management
28. Excellent communication and the ability to build relationships quickly
29. Demonstrates a clear drive for results
30. Proactive individual who continuously finds a better way
