About The Role
We have a rewarding and varied opportunity for a Community Based Dementia Adviser to join us covering Southwark and Lambeth. The successful candidate will provide advice and guidance to people, families, and carers affected by dementia. Working as part of the Alzheimer’s Society Lambeth team and the Southwark and Lambeth Memory Service, you will support newly diagnosed clients to navigate support and services from the London Borough of Lambeth, who are referred to our service.
There is no direct care element to this role; however, we work passionately to provide advice, support, and guidance to people affected by dementia. This role involves supporting people in their homes through face-to-face, telephone, and virtual interactions, empowering them with tools and knowledge to make informed decisions about their future. Hours: 17.5 per week (hours to be agreed; must be between 8am and 6pm, Monday to Friday)
Contract: Fixed-term for 8 months
Location: Community-based with regular travel across Southwark and Lambeth
Interviews: 15th September 2025 via Teams
You will;
* offer vital and compassionate advice to support those affected by dementia.
* provide community-based, face-to-face support for more complex cases.
* manage referrals, helping clients assess their information and support needs in a person-centred manner.
* signpost clients to suitable additional sources of help where appropriate.
You will have;
* a passion for supporting people with additional needs.
* ability to prioritise and manage your workload effectively.
* excellent communication skills adaptable to diverse audiences.
* IT skills to navigate databases and maintain confidential records.
* ability to travel across Lambeth and visit the service regularly.
