Diagnostics Technician role at Spectrum Control
We’re seeking a talented Diagnostics Technician to join our fast-paced engineering team in Great Yarmouth. This is a great opportunity for a candidate with a strong background in Electronic Engineering with excellent problem-solving skills to progress their career within the Aerospace and Defence sector.
In this exciting role you’ll support implementation of the test set up, and verification plan, as defined by Test System Development Engineering, and support diagnostics and fault finding. Successful candidate must be a self-starter and be prepared to guide and feedback to Operations and Engineering.
Key responsibilities
* Diagnose faults on highly complex chip & wire assemblies down to component level.
* Analyse & look for trends in results/failures.
* Update documentation to improve first time yields.
* Help maintain the customer returns process.
* Ensure that all Environmental Health and Safety / Company Policies are adhered to at all times.
* You will have responsibility to make suggestions on Continuous Improvement within the business. This responsibility forms part of all employees’ job description.
* Undertake any other duties and responsibilities as required to maintain and/or improve the efficiency, quality and service of the Engineering team.
Skills and experience required
* HNC / HNC Electronic Engineering - Essential
* Degree qualified (BEng or similar) – Desirable
* Experience of working on RF tune and test - Desirable
* Extensive experience in Electronics diagnostics - Essential
* Understanding of Labview based test systems - Desirable
* Understanding of modern test equipment (R&S, Keysight etc), ideally including Network analysers, spectrum analysers, power meters, frequency converters etc. Understand limitations and usages of each - Essential
* Chip & wire hybrid diagnostics experience - Desirable
* PCB diagnostics experience - Essential
* Understanding of build, test and operation of Transmit Receive Modules for Radar applications – Desirable
* Problem Solving - Essential
* RF Test Measurement and Calibration
* Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving capability
* Meticulous attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
* Initiative
* Teamwork
* Willingness to continue to learn and develop

* SC cleared or ability to obtain
