Role Overview
Kitchen Assistant at Avery Healthcare – support catering, food preparation, and maintain a clean environment to deliver high‑quality meals to residents.
Responsibilities
* Apply safe food handling principles to ensure all kitchen preparations meet the highest hygiene standards.
* Contribute fully to team working, respond positively to colleagues, and act on all reasonable work instructions promptly.
* Advise on supply and quality of items used in tasks, ensuring timely and appropriate ordering of replacement goods.
* Act respectfully toward residents and their visitors, respecting each resident’s dignity and individuality.
Qualifications
* Hold a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and demonstrate high personal hygiene standards.
* Know Health and Safety, including Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety and COSHH assessments.
* Be an efficient worker, capable of sustained physical effort and able to respond to a demanding workload.
* Display initiative, a positive and flexible attitude to team working, and a caring and understanding attitude toward residents.
