Interim Finance Manager

Location: Taunton (Hybrid - 3-4 days in office, 1-2 from home)
Rate: £350 - £400 per day (via umbrella)
Contract: 6 months (likely to extend)
Start date: Immediate Hire

The Company

Robert Half are delighted to be partnering with a well-established UK wide client. Due to an internal secondment, the business is looking for an Interim Finance Manager to support the Financial Controller and CFO across their UK entities.

This is a great opportunity to join a high-performing finance function during a period of planning and year-end activity, in a role that offers visibility, autonomy, and hybrid working.

The Role

As Interim Finance Manager, you'll play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, while supporting the wider business with planning and audit deliverables.

Key responsibilities will include:

1. Preparing year-end financial statements and group consolidations across three UK entities.
2. Acting as the main point of contact for external auditors, ensuring all timelines are tracked and met (December year-end, completion by early March).
3. Producing monthly management accounts, posting journals, and completing first-level reviews and variance analysis prior to senior sign-off.
4. Supporting the Financial Controller and CFO with budgeting and forecasting for 2026, collating information from across the business and presenting to management in November.
5. Providing analytical insight and supporting ongoing process improvements within the finance team.

The Successful Candidate

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on finance professional with strong experience in management accounting, year-end preparation and audit liaison. You'll be confident reviewing financial information, consolidating multiple entities, and operating within a fast-paced commercial environment.

Key skills and experience:

6. Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or QBE with strong relevant experience.
7. Proven track record of preparing management and statutory accounts.
8. Experience managing or coordinating external audits.
9. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
10. Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders.

11. Day rate: £350 - £400 per day (via umbrella).
12. Contract: 6 months (with strong potential to extend).
13. Hybrid working: 3-4 days in the office, 1-2 from home.
14. Start date: Early to mid-October.
