We are seeking a dedicated Technical Skills Coach for the Heavy Motor Vehicle apprenticeship programme. This role involves managing cohorts of apprentices, providing effective coaching, teaching, and mentoring to enhance both apprentice and employer experiences and ensure successful completion of the programme.
Motor Vehicle Assessor
* Annual Salary: £29,309.19 - £31,554.32 (£36,148 - £38,917 FTE)
* Location: Berkshire
* Job Type: Permanent, Part-time (30 hours per week, Monday to Thursday)
Day-to-day of the role of a Motor Vehicle Assessor
* Design, implement, and assess learning programmes for Years 1-3 apprentices, including formative and summative assessments across the gateways.
* Manage a caseload of apprentices, conducting workplace visits and progress reviews, either in-person or remotely, to ensure continuous progress towards successful gateway completion.
* Provide ongoing support to apprentices and their employers, ensuring full understanding of the standards and maintaining regular engagement throughout the apprenticeship.
* Conduct progress reviews every 10-12 weeks with apprentices and their line managers to discuss progress, provide feedback, and ensure readiness for the EPA Gateway.
* Carry out initial assessments with apprentices to establish the pathway and level of the programme, setting realistic start and planned end dates.
* Support stakeholders and employers in understanding their responsibilities for on-job and off-job training, and monitor apprentices' off-job training hours.
* Utilize tools like Microsoft Teams, Google Classrooms, and e-portfolios for effective communication and remote assessment.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date apprentice records using systems like EBS, Pro-achieve, and E-Portfolio.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Proven experience in coaching and mentoring in the motor vehicle industry, particularly with heavy motor vehicles.
* Strong understanding of apprenticeship standards and requirements.
* Proficient in using educational technology and remote communication tools.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain detailed records.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with apprentices, employers, and internal teams.
