Deputy Chief Nursing Officer
The Office of the Chief Nursing Officer is a Division within the Department of Health and is headed by the Chief Nursing Officer. The Office is responsible for the development of evidence based national nursing and midwifery policies.
The Department of Health are now seeking a Deputy Chief Nursing Officer. This position offers an exciting opportunity for an ambitious, enthusiastic and committed professional with a strong dedication to serving the public interest.
The Deputy Chief Nursing Officer reports to the Principal Officer of the Nursing and Midwifery Unit and supports the Chief Nursing Officer in the discharge of the functions of the Office. This is achieved through the development of nursing and midwifery policy, providing expert nursing and midwifery advice to the Minister for Health, Ministers of State and officials at all levels in the Department of Health and contributing to the full range of parliamentary functions of the Department. They will also contribute as necessary in supporting and directing the Office’s work programme and business objectives.
