Job Opportunity: Band 5 Radiographer
We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and ambitious Band 5 Radiographer to join the Radiology team at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust. This position offers rotation through CT and will be based at Stoke Mandeville Hospital, with the possibility of cross-site work as required. The role involves participation in the out-of-hours service, including night shifts and weekends. The department provides dedicated staff and training facilities, an active audit and teaching programme, and clinical placements for undergraduate students. We are committed to staff development and radiographer role extension.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Work independently in designated imaging areas, seeking advice when necessary and following protocols.
2. Perform equipment quality assurance in line with the QA Programme.
3. Vet and accept imaging requests.
4. Select appropriate imaging modalities based on patient condition.
5. Undertake plain film examinations on sedated or anaesthetised patients (adults and children).
6. Develop skills to interpret plain film images and discuss further imaging with a Consultant Radiologist within protocols.
7. Identify and mark abnormalities on plain films (Red Dot Procedure) to assist clinicians.
8. Work unsupervised out of hours and perform CT head, spine, and KUB examinations once trained.
