Teaching Assistant Opportunities – Specialist FE College (Dorset)

Working Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm (Monday to Friday)
Teaching Personnel are partnering with a specialist further education college in Dorset that supports young people aged 16–25 with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
We are currently recruiting multiple full-time Teaching Assistants for both temporary and permanent positions, starting ASAP (subject to vetting).
Role Overview
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students both academically and personally within a structured and supportive environment. The provision offers both day and residential support, with a strong focus on independence and life skills.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small group support
Assist with tailored learning programmes
Support emotional regulation and behaviour management
Encourage independence and social development
Work collaboratively with teaching and care staff
What We’re Looking For
A genuine interest in supporting young people with additional needs
Experience with SEN, ASC or SEMH (desirable, not essential)
A calm, patient and resilient approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
