London Parks and Gardens Trust is seeking to make a permanent appointment to our Director role. This is a vital, exciting and challenging role, continuing our mission to help protect and champion London’s green spaces, ensuring they can be enjoyed by everyone. This key task recognises the vital role such spaces play in health, wellbeing, biodiversity and conservation, and importantly the part LPG plays in protecting them.
This is a great opportunity to lead our small, dynamic and growing charity. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join us as our permanent Director, an exciting and rewarding role, with the potential to make a positive impact on the life of all visitors to the capital, and all Londoners.
You will bring senior level experience, strategic vision, the ability to work across and prioritise multiple projects and tasks, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and experience of a wide range of audiences. Some financial management and fundraising experience would also be valuable. Experience in the planning, environmental or heritage sectors is desirable; what matters most is your ability to lead, inspire others and drive impact.
Key responsibilities
* Implementing, with the LPG team, our mission to champion and help protect London’s green spaces, particularly its historic parks and gardens - helping to ensure they can be enjoyed by everyone.
* Leading the day-to-day delivery of the charity’s aspirations, through the management of staff and volunteers.
* Increasing LPG’s profile and effectiveness in delivering its mission.
* Ensuring financial sustainability, by growing LPG’s income and controlling costs.
* Jointly developing, with the Board, LPG’s ongoing strategy and plans.
* Constructively engaging with trustees, reporting on progress against agreed objectives, targets and finances, and proposing and evolving plans as required.
This is a four-day-a-week role with a salary up to £48,500 FTE depending on skills and experience.
