Job Description
Role: Finance ManagerLocation: Essex (Upminster)Contract: 9-12 month FTCThe Finance Manager will support the Group Financial Controller in overseeing day-to-day finance operations, managing one direct report, and taking ownership of the full AP/AR cycle. You will also play a key role in post-acquisition integration, process improvement, and building a scalable finance function that can support continued growth.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Operations & Controls
* Take full ownership of month end reporting
* Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
* Ensure timely processing, reconciliations, and resolution of queries
* Strengthen financial controls and maintain high-quality financial data
Financial Reporting & Month-End
* Support the Group Financial Controller with month-end close and management accounts
* Assist with consolidated reporting and analysis
* Drive improvements across reporting, processes, and systems
Post-Acquisition Integration
* Play a key role in post-integration activity for newly acquired businesses, supporting the Group Financial Controller
* Embed consistent processes, controls, and reporting frameworks
* Work closely with operational and acquisition teams to ensure smooth onboarding
Business Support & Continuous Improvement
* Provide analysis and insight to support decision-making
* Identify opportunities to streamline processes and enhance financial visibility
* Contribute to building a scalable finance function aligned with PE expectations
Skills & Experience Required
* Experience managing and developing a team (even small teams)
* Strong background in finance operations, including AP/AR ownership
* Experience in a services environment or similar (preferred)
* Strong understanding of financial controls and process improvement
* Part or Fully qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or simmilar)
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
