Here at Mountain Healthcare, we are seeking passionate, determined, and resilient individuals to join our teams as Forensic Custody Healthcare Professionals based in Cumbria.
This role is an alternative career option for RGN's and qualified Paramedics with 3+ years' post-qualification experience.
Custody environments are dynamic, with no two days the same. Detainees can be held for up to 24 hours, during which we provide high-level care for various needs, from substance dependency to acute medical episodes.
Our healthcare professionals are fully trained to collect forensic samples to assist police investigations.
Experience in forensics is NOT NECESSARY. You will work closely with police and receive training and support to become an accredited Forensic Practitioner.
Hours of Work
The 4-on-4-off rota provides clear boundaries for work-life balance, with shifts comprising two day shifts, two night shifts, then four days off. This is a Bank Vacancy Only.
Duties Include
* Forensic sampling (including road traffic offence bloods)
* Signposting and referrals; supporting vulnerabilities and re-offending prevention
* Delivering substance misuse therapies
* Assessment & care of detainees and staff in custody suites
* Promoting good personal healthcare
* Working with Liaison and Diversion to identify mental health needs
* Qualified Registered Nurse or Paramedic with at least 3 years' post-qualification experience
Previous experience in A&E, walk-in centres, substance misuse, community nursing, police custody, prison, or as a Paramedic Practitioner is advantageous.
