Contract Type: Zero Hour Contract with possibility of permeant Salary: Competitive hourly rate (dependent on experience and qualifications) About the Role We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team on a flexible zero hour basis, supporting schools across the West Midlands. This role involves working closely with pupils who have Special Educational Needs (SEN), including those with autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), and other additional learning requirements. Key Responsibilities Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEN. Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities. Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies. Support pupils with communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation. Help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment. Monitor and record pupil progress and report observations to teaching staff. Support personal care needs where required. Promote positive behaviour and safeguarding practices at all times. Requirements Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN (school, care, or youth setting). A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures. Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) are desirable but not essential. Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
