Overview As Assistant General Manager, you will support the General Manager in leading a premium, high-energy restaurant operation. You will ensure exceptional guest experiences, drive team performance, and maintain high operational and service standards in line with the Chucs brand.
Youll be a hands-on leader, visible on the floor, helping to deliver a refined yet welcoming hospitality experience.
Key Responsibilities Operations & Service Support the General Manager in overseeing day-to-day restaurant operations
Ensure consistent, high-quality guest experience at all times
Lead service periods, maintaining premium hospitality standards
Handle guest feedback, complaints, and VIP service recovery
?? Assistant GMs typically ensure consistently high standards of hospitality and operational efficiency in daily operations
Team Leadership Supervise, train, and motivate front-of-house staff
Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and staff development
Lead by example, creating a positive and high-performance culture
Manage rotas, shift planning, and labour costs
?? Strong leadership and communication are core expectations for Chucs roles
Financial & Commercial Performance Support the GM in achieving sales targets and profitability (P&L awareness)
Monitor wage costs, stock control, and wastage
Assist in budgeting and cost control measures
Drive upselling and revenue opportunities
Compliance & Standards Ensure compliance with health & safety, hygiene, and licensing laws
Maintain company standards across service, presentation, and cleanliness
Oversee stock management, ordering, and supplier coordination
?? Health & safety and operational compliance are standard AGM responsibilities in hospitality roles
Brand & Guest Experience Uphold the Chucs brand identity (Mediterranean style, premium casual dining)
Build strong relationships with regular and high-end clientele
Ensure a polished, detail-driven environment
Candidate Profile Experience Previous experience as Assistant General Manager / Restaurant Manager / Senior Supervisor
Background in premium or high-volume hospitality
Strong understanding of food & beverage operations
Skills & Attributes Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
Excellent communication and organisational ability
Passion for hospitality and guest experience
Hands-on, proactive, and solution-driven mindset
Experience with systems like rotas, stock control, POS
