Job Title: Assistant Financial Accountant

Marks Sattin are collaborating with a well established business based in Birmingham City Centre who are searching for a candidate with great attention to detail, proven experience in a financial accounting environment, strong Excel knowledge and a strong grasp of core accounting principles.

Day to Day Responsibilities
* Support completion of month end activities including preparing prepayment journals and supporting the Financial Accountant with ad hoc tasks.
* Monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
* Maintain the asset register and prepare monthly asset and lease reconciliations.
* Prepare the monthly VAT returns and annual tax returns.
* Support the preparation of the financial statements and associated documentation required for audit
About You
* Proven experience in a financial accounting environment.
* Strong understanding of core accounting principles and their application in month-end reporting and reconciliation tasks.
* Proficient Excel skills (including V-lookups and pivot tables).
* AAT qualification or similar (part-qualified with ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or an Accountancy & Finance Degree).
* You MUST be immediately available to be considered for this position.
