Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in culinary arts and experience in food production, with a focus on delivering exceptional dining experiences. As the Sous Chef, you will assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, supervising staff, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality are maintained.
Duties
* Assist in the preparation and cooking of high-quality dishes, ensuring consistency and presentation meet our standards.
* Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to foster a collaborative team environment.
* Manage food production processes, including inventory control, portioning, and waste management.
* Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness throughout the kitchen.
* Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop new menu items and seasonal offerings that reflect current culinary trends.
* Train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and safety protocols.
* Assist in ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
* Participate in menu planning and cost control measures to optimise profitability while maintaining quality.
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant setting.
* Strong culinary skills with a solid understanding of food preparation techniques and cooking methods.
* Supervising experience with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively.
* Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hospitality.
* Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of food production.
* Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality.
