About The Role

Cleaner (Permanent)

Start date: ASAP

Contract type: Permanent

Salary: £24,027 (8,279.70 pro rota) based on 12.5 hours per week.

Interviews: TBC – applications will be considered as received and interviews arranged accordingly.

We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Cleaner to join our site team. You will play an important role in ensuring the academy is clean, hygienic, and safe for pupils, staff, and visitors. This is a hands-on role where your attention to detail and pride in your work will make a meaningful difference every day.


Key Responsibilities

* Work as part of the cleaning team across the academy, ensuring all areas are kept clean, hygienic, and safe to the required standard
* Use cleaning equipment and materials correctly and safely, in line with Health and Safety policies and procedures
* Carry out deep cleaning and evening cleaning sessions during school holidays and throughout the year, as directed by the Operations Manager or Cleaning Supervisor
* Provide cover for other cleaning staff when required
* Actively promote the safety and welfare of children and young people
* Ensure compliance with Ark’s data protection rules and procedures
* Communicate professionally and respectfully with colleagues and external contacts at all levels
* Work collaboratively with Ark Central and other academies in the network to share good practice and offer support where needed
* Carry out any other reasonable tasks as directed by your line manager


Knowledge, Skills and Experience

* Experience in cleaning, preferably in a school or similar environment
* Ability to take ownership of tasks and work independently with minimal supervision
* Ability to follow relevant policies and procedures effectively
