Berkshire Healthcare Foundation Trust has an exciting vacancy for a part‑time nursery nurse to join the West Berkshire health visiting team.
We are looking for a highly organised, motivated nursery nurse to support the health visiting service in West Berkshire. The team is responsible for providing a service to children and their families aged 0‑5 that live within the West Berkshire boundary.
The ideal candidate will have good organisational, IT and communication skills with a passion for the health and well‑being of children aged 0‑5 years and their families.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work as part of a supportive and friendly team where they will be supported to develop their skills.
Driving is a requirement; you must have access to a car.
Responsibilities
* Provide support to families within a variety of community settings under the direction of the Health Visitor, taking into account the diverse needs of the community.
* Plan and deliver health‑enhancing activities for children and their families, including working in groups, child health clinics, developmental review clinics, postnatal groups, and on an individual basis.
* Provide support to families using the Solihull approach model in behaviour management, parenting skills and delivering programmes of care to vulnerable families as identified by the health visitor.
* Support breastfeeding and parent‑infant relationships applying the UNICEF UK Baby Friendly Initiative standards.
* Be fully aware of and understand local safeguarding policies and procedures.
* Work in partnership with Children Centres and Early Years settings to promote the health and well‑being of the local population.
* Support new staff and students in placement by contributing to the provision of a suitable learning environment and experience.
* Participate in clinical and child protection supervision.
* Liaise with other agencies and services to provide integrated and cohesive support for children and their families, under the direction of the health visitor.
* Maintain accurate, contemporaneous and comprehensive records of care.
* Provide care that is evidence‑based and support others in developing their practice.
Qualifications & Experience
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
* NNEB or equivalent with an interest in public health.
* Reflective and innovative practitioner.
* Car driver with access to a car.
