Role Overview
A leading consultancy is seeking a Senior Façade Consultant to join its Manchester-based team. This role involves delivering façade consultancy services across a range of projects, with a focus on design, construction, inspection, and maintenance. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, leadership skills, and a collaborative mindset to support both clients and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the delivery of façade consultancy services, considering design, construction, and maintenance principles.
* Engage with clients, building managers, architects, contractors, and manufacturers; lead meetings and provide expert guidance.
* Conduct façade inspections and condition surveys on both new and existing buildings.
Produce high-quality technical reports, including due diligence assessments, PPM reports, and acquisition reviews.
* Review and provide initial QA on reports prepared by team members, ensuring alignment with internal standards.
* Prepare and review budget estimates and fee proposals, ensuring Director-level oversight before client submission.
* Support junior team members through mentoring and knowledge sharing.
Collaborate with other departments to enhance service delivery and cross-functional support.
* Deliver internal CPD presentations to share knowledge and promote continuous learning.
Manage time effectively across multiple workflows, proactively communicating any issues to the Team Leader.
Candidate Profile
Essential Requirements:
* Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience in the façade industry.
* Strong understanding of façade systems, materials, and defect diagnosis.
* Familiarity with British, European, and international standards.
* Knowledge of façade testing procedures and performance criteria.
* Commercial awareness of project budgets and fee structures.
* Degree in Façade Engineering or a related discipline (e.g., MSc from University of Bath or UWE Bristol).
* Membership or working towards membership with the Society of Façade Engineering or equivalent.
