We are recruiting on their behalf for a Procurement & Logistics Assistant to join their small, dynamic team on a part-time, permanent basis. Our client is a leading and innovative organisation in a specialist defence related industry. Due to this you will need to pass security vetting upon employment. This is a part-time position offering approximately 27 hours per week, with flexible working arrangements to suit the successful candidate. A pro rata salary of £15,000 – £19,000 per annum is on offer, dependent on relevant experience. The ideal candidate will be someone looking to develop their skills in procurement, logistics, and operations within a manufacturing or technical environment. Prior experience in supply chain, admin, or logistics is desirable, but not essential. Procurement & Logistics Assistant main duties: * Support the Procurement Manager with raising and processing purchase orders. * Liaise with suppliers to obtain quotes, confirm lead times, and track deliveries. * Maintain accurate stock levels and inventory records using internal systems. * Assist in organising and coordinating shipments, including packing and preparing export documentation. * Monitor delivery schedules and proactively follow up on outstanding orders. * Help manage goods-in and goods-out processes, including inspections and record keeping. * Support with supplier performance tracking and maintaining approved supplier lists. * Contribute to cycle counting and stock audits to ensure accuracy. * Update procurement and logistics data in spreadsheets and databases. * Provide general administrative support across the procurement, logistics, and wider operations functions. * Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to streamline procurement and stock control processes. * Collaborate with other departments (engineering, production, finance) to ensure alignment on procurement and dispatch priorities. Procurement & Logistics Assistant desired skills and experience: * Basic knowledge of supply chain or inventory management. * Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook. * Excellent attention to detail and time management skills. * Positive, flexible attitude with a willingness to learn. * Prior experience in an administrative or logistics-based role is advantageous, but not essential.
