Job Description:
Summary:
Under general supervision builds, maintains and repairs production equipment for all departments as required.
Maintenance Mechanic Essential Job Functions:
1. Participates actively in safety and skills training in pursuit of personal improvement
2. Maintains a thorough knowledge of production processes, equipment and operations in the interest of diagnosing and repairing equipment malfunctions
3. Performs preventive maintenance duties on equipment as required and maintains an competent knowledge of equipment, operations and processes throughout the plant
4. Disassembles and diagnoses mechanical failures and performs repairs on production and facilities equipment as required
5. Installs new equipment as required, aligns, rebuilds and performs preventative maintenance duties as necessary
6. Possess general computer use knowledge
7. Maintains manuals of replacement parts, specifications, blueprints of equipment and maintenance requirements to facilitate repairs also maintains such files and records in an orderly manner for future reference
8. Performs welding or general maintenance duties as required in repairing production equipment
9. May provide work direction to less experienced Maintenance Technicians as required
10. Documents time spent, work performed and parts used on projects by completing time records through use of the Maintenance Management System
11. Conducts regular inspections of tools, safety and production equipment
12. Develops and maintains knowledge of hand and power tools used in the repair and maintenance of plant equipment
13. Good regular and prompt attendance record
14. May perform reasonably similar or related duties as required.
15. Assists in keeping the department in tour ready condition.
Maintenance Mechanic Preferred Education & Experience:
1. Prefer a minimum of 1-3 years of Industrial or commercial mechanical experience and/or two (2) year degree, and/or relevant military experience
2. Must successfully complete all ADM Safety Certification requirements
3. Basic knowledge of process equipment
4. Good regular and prompt attendance history
5. Excellent safety record and awareness
6. Previous plant/process experience
7. Experience in any of the following areas is a preferred: Welding (Certification), Metal fabrication, Mechanical Auto/Diesel, Machinist, Millwright (setting up and aligning new equipment), Preventative and Predictive Maintenance, Mobile Equipment (forklift or manlift), Rigging, chokers and slings
8. Good organizational and communication skills, and must be self-motivated
9. Ability to work well with others and with little supervision – (Required)
10. Willingness to assume and learn new responsibilities
11. Housekeeping and sanitation skills (MSS)
12. Willingness to work overtime when necessary
13. Attention to detail and accurate record keeping skills
