Overview
We are a well-established business and part of a group of companies specialising in sustainable lifting solutions. We are looking for a proactive, autonomous Business Development Manager, ideally based in the Midlands or South of the UK, to help us continue our growth plans.
Basic Salary
£45,000 – £55,000.
Benefits
* Bonus/Commission of around £7,500 in year one, uncapped.
* Pension.
* 25 days holiday plus bank days.

Location
Field based with occasional visits to our head office in the Southwest.
Commutable Locations
* Bristol, Birmingham, Cheltenham, Gloucester, Watford, Milton Keynes, Northampton, Rugby, Coventry, Leicester, Bedford, Guildford, Slough, Newbury, Swindon.
Job Description
As Business Development Manager your key responsibility is to grow our business across the UK. Reporting directly to the Operations Director, you will be an integral part of the sales team, chasing new prospects, closing deals and passing successful opportunities to account managers or managing the process independently. Your role will involve:
* Mapping target customers and industries, maintaining CRM information to track performance metrics.
* Developing and implementing a sales strategy for your product and service portfolio.
* Overseeing and managing all new business opportunities.
* Staying informed on industry trends, competitor activity and market shifts.
Person Specification
* Successful sales record with a drive to win new business.
* Background in construction or experience selling heavy plant, excavation, mining, drilling, piling, truck, bus or off‑highway equipment.
* Understanding of key decision‑makers in the sector.
* Experience managing your own diary and prospecting defined markets with minimal supervision.
* A proactive attitude, consistently seeking the next sale.
* Ability to generate own business and deliver on metrics to shape management reporting.
Industry Focus
* Heavy construction equipment, mining, quarrying, cranes, scissor lifts, hoists, commercial vehicles, and related areas.
* Experience in sales, business development or account management roles within these markets is ideal.
