The role
At NEXT, our Travel & Expenses (T&E) team plays a vital role in keeping the business running smoothly, ensuring our people have the support they need while maintaining robust financial oversight.
We have an opportunity for a knowledgeable Finance Coordinator to join us at Head Office. In this role, you will take ownership of our travel and expense platforms, from reconciling submissions to identifying data trends that help us work smarter. If you are a problem solver who enjoys working with data and people, this is a great place to grow your career.
What you'll take on
You will be the specialist for our T&E platforms, ensuring accuracy and control across our global operations.
* Platform Management: Maintain our Travel Management and Corporate Card systems, ensuring expense submissions and card applications are handled efficiently.
* Data & Insights: Help set up reporting packs and KPIs, analysing data to spot trends, exceptions, or areas where we can improve our controls.
* Financial Rigour: Support Month End processes by posting journals and completing Balance Sheet reconciliations, proactively addressing risks.
* Operational Support: Act as the point of contact for the business on T&E policies, ensuring financial controls are always respected.
* Carbon Reporting: Support our environmental goals by consolidating T&E data for Carbon Footprint reporting and correcting any inconsistencies.
* Process Improvement: Take the initiative to produce and maintain a procedures database, pushing forward business processes to keep us efficient.
* Clear Communication: Resolve queries quickly through multiple channels and escalate issues to departments like Security or Store Services when needed.
*
What you'll bring
We are looking for a person who is organised, analytical, and ready to take responsibility for their work.
Essential Criteria:
* Financial Experience: Proven experience with Balance Sheet reconciliations and journal posting.
* Technical Skills: Excellent knowledge of Google Sheets (or Excel) and a comfort working with large data sets.
* Professional Background: Part-qualified (ACCA, CIMA) or qualified by experience.
* Communication: Strong written and verbal skills, with the ability to explain solutions clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
* Proactive Mindset: The ability to work using your own initiative while contributing to the team's shared goals.
* Organisation: A flexible approach to work, with the ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines under pressure.
What we look for:
* Problem Solvers: People who enjoy finding the "why" behind the data and the "how" for the solution.
* Continuous Learners: A desire to actively develop yourself and learn new skills as the business evolves.
