About The Post
This role provides support to the Financial Management team – working closely with Finance Business Partners to:
* Ensure the accuracy of financial information within the University’s financial systems.
* Provide financial advice to Principal Investigators (PIs) and budget holders, including monitoring income, chasing payments, and resolving financial queries.
* Liaise with administrators and finance team members across the University to resolve queries and assist with month‑end and year‑end financial processes.
* Set up and maintain project budgets, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal costings and financial regulations.
* Contribute to the review and improvement of financial processes and maintaining accurate financial records for audit purposes.

* Strong attention to detail and accuracy – able to complete financial reconciliations, ensuring precision in journal entries, compliance with financial regulations, and consistent financial reporting.

* Organisational and time‑management skills: manage multiple financial tasks, meet deadlines, and handle conflicting priorities professionally.
* Problem‑solving and initiative: identify financial anomalies, propose process improvements, work independently to resolve issues while seeking advice and support when necessary.
