Data Risk and AI Director, London or Birmingham. The growing volumes of disparate data and advances in AI/data science create opportunities to help clients develop intelligent decision-making solutions that enable strategic, financial, operational and compliance decisions with confidence. EY’s Data Risk and AI team is a data-focused group within our Assurance Advisory Services department. We work across sectors to help clients make data accessible, compliant and of high quality, then use this data to manage key risks and improve productivity and efficiency while delivering outcomes for stakeholders.
The opportunity
We are experiencing rapid growth and seeking a market-facing Director to develop technical and business relationships with a diverse portfolio of clients across sectors such as Life Sciences, Government, health care and Energy. Your role will focus on leading and developing our market strategy and helping clients identify and define complex business problems solvable with data science, AI and technology.
Key responsibilities
* Develop long-term client relationships across key sectors and accounts.
* Support and drive business development activities including client conversations, proposals and pitches.
* Promote the team in the market through thought leadership, conference participation, product development and partnerships with strategic technology providers.
* Ensure meaningful client value is delivered to retain and grow relationships with measurable results.
* Bring the latest technical experience in AI/ML, data science, engineering, statistics, cloud architecture.
* Provide deep industry knowledge; contribute to strategy and growth of the team and wider practice; support the development of other team members.
To qualify for the role
* A demonstrable track record in growing business by helping clients manage data, use data to manage key risks and improve performance.
* Exemplary delivery of client engagements related to data risks and AI solutions.
* Ability to develop innovative data-driven solutions and take them to market.
* Experience in growing and leading a team to develop business and deliver for clients to high standards.
* Experience in delivery of advanced Analytics & Decision Intelligence.
* Experience with scalable AI architecture and solutions.
* Capability in AI Literacy, ML Engineering & Generative AI Fluency.
* Hands-on experience of Agentic AI & Autonomous Systems.
Ideally, you’ll also have
* Understanding of the UK, EU and US financial reporting regulatory environment.
* Recognised qualifications in cloud engineering, AI and data science.
* Experience in IT audits over major change programmes and regulatory remediation programmes.
* Experience in professional services or blue-chip industry firms managing data-related risks and using data to drive confident decision making (desirable).
* Deep knowledge of challenges facing key industries.
