We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Salford-based primary school that caters for pupils with a wide range of complex needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, global developmental delay, social–emotional needs, communication difficulties, and physical or sensory impairments. Key Responsibilities
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
* Provide tailored support to pupils with diverse and complex needs, adapting activities and learning materials to ensure full engagement.
* Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised learning plans and behaviour support strategies.
* Assist with communication and social interaction, using visual aids, sensory tools, or alternative communication methods where required.
* Create a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment, promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
* Deliver small-group or one-to-one interventions, helping pupils develop confidence, independence, and key learning skills.
* Provide personal care where necessary, ensuring dignity, respect, and full safeguarding compliance at all times.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one through Teaching Personnel).
* Safeguarding training (provided by Teaching Personnel)
* Experience working with children with SEN, ideally in a school or care setting.
* A patient, compassionate and resilient approach.
* Strong communication skills and a genuine passion for supporting children’s development.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
