As a Project Engineer, you’ll take ownership of controls and automation projects from concept to completion, designing intelligent solutions that help customers solve complex problems across highly regulated environments.
Project Engineer - Controls & Automation - The Role:
Take the lead on automation and controls projects, ensuring delivery meets technical and client expectations
Design, develop, and implement PLC & HMI software (Siemens preferred), ensuring systems run seamlessly from start to finish
Engage with customers and stakeholders to understand project requirements and provide expert guidance
Prepare detailed project documentation, proposals, and modifications as needed
Collaborate closely with a small, skilled team on diverse projects, sharing ideas and knowledge
Contribute to internal discussions and team meetings, helping to continuously improve processes and outcomes
Project Engineer - Controls & Automation - The Person:
We’re open to a range of experience — whether you’re early in your career or already well-established, we’d love to hear from passionate engineers ready to grow.
Degree (or equivalent) in Controls, Automation, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline
Around 3-5 years' minimum experience developing PLC and HMI software for automation projects
Experience with Siemens PLC/SCADA systems (TIA Portal, S7-1200/1500) preferred
Comfortable working through the full project lifecycle – from initial scoping to commissioning
A collaborative mindset, with the ability to work independently when needed
Any exposure to high-tech or regulated industries (e.g., pharma, nuclear, food) would be a bonus
Located on the South Coast, this role would be commutable from Portsmouth, Fareham, Port Solent & Southampton.
