The role of Kitchen Porter is a key support function vital to the efficient running of the Bakery, Kitchen, and Café, and maintaining cleanliness and organisation. A focus on Food Safety, and hygiene is a priority. The role-holder will ensure the everything runs smoothly by keeping it hygienic and well stocked. The role-holder should have a genuine interest in food preparation and working in a kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, be able to work quickly and efficiently, and have a keen eye for detail.
Responsibilities The role-holder responsibilities include:
· Dishwashing and Cleaning: washing all cooking and baking equipment, utensils, glasses, plates and tableware, and cutlery using dishwashers or by hand, ensuring everything is clean, dry and properly stored.
· Basic food preparation: assisting with tasks like washing produce, peeling vegetables, and other food preparation duties.
· Washing and drying tea towels and other clothes using a washing machine and tumble drier.
· Kitchen Maintenance: Cleaning and sanitising work surfaces, floors, walls, and other areas of the kitchen, pot wash and related spaces.
· Waste Management: Removing and disposing of kitchen and café waste, including recycling, and ensuring designated areas are kept clean
· Maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety
· Stocking and Organising: the correct storage of stock, and replenishing supplies
· Following Procedures: Ahere to hygiene, health & safety, and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH)
· Teamworking: work effectively with the Barista/Supervisor, Chef, Head Baker, and other kitchen/café/bakery staff to maintain a smooth workflow
· Equipment Operation: operate and maintain kitchen and pot wash equipment according to instructions.

· Monday – closed
· Tuesday through Thursday – 08:00 to 20:00
· Friday – 08:00 to 22:00
· Saturday – 09:00 to 16:00
· Sunday - closed
To start asap for 6 month contract to April £13.39 plus holiday pay
