Finance Assistant - Venue & Commercial

The Role:
As our Finance Assistant, you will be integral in managing a range of high-value financial activities. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Leading on invoicing for MUFC, MUTV, MUWFC, including Commercial contracts, player loans, events, and ad hoc charges
2. Daily reconciliation of all venue products sold via Seat Geek
3. Handling internal financial processes
4. Reconciling and processing payments for home and away games, including invoicing and credit control
5. Managing European match finances with contra reconciliations
6. Overseeing V12 Season Ticket finance processes during renewal periods
7. Acting as the primary contact for WorldPay
8. Supporting month-end close with balance sheet reconciliations and control account reconciliations
9. Deputising for the Accounts Receivable Manager as needed
10. Coordinating with the Commercial team on sponsor payment timelines – essential for accurate cash flow forecasting
11. Participating in Monthly Revenue Recognition meetings with the Reporting team
12. Liaising with Football Finance and club to ensure accurate and timely invoice payments
13. Providing accurate data for monthly P&L reporting
14. Supporting future system and finance transformation projects
15. Performing data analysis, report preparation, and automation to drive process improvements
16. Responding to audit requests, including evidence gathering and sampling
The Person:
17. Previous experience in sales ledger or accounts receivable
18. Proven ability to manage high volumes of data and large financial transactions
19. Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset
20. Proficiency in financial systems and Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, etc.)
21. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
22. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
23. Experience in financial reconciliation, reporting, and month-end processes - desirable
24. A proactive attitude and the ability to take initiative, particularly when deputising
25. Previous exposure to audits, automation projects, and financial systems development – desirable
