A new vacancy for a Civil Structural Engineer (BUILDING ENVELOPE) with a leading UK provider of performance testing, assessment & approval services to product developers, manufacturers & installers in the Construction industry. Reporting to the company's offices in the Hertfordshire / North London area, the Civil Structural Engineer (BUILDING ENVELOPE) will have the option of hybrid/homeworking 2 days per week.
The main purpose of the Civil Structural Engineer (BUILDING ENVELOPE) role is to plan, coordinate, and carry out assessments of construction products and systems related to building envelope structures. You will manage multiple projects, prepare contract offers and estimates for the assessment of various types of construction products and systems related to building envelopes. The Civil Structural Engineer (BUILDING ENVELOPE) will also research and investigate aspects of construction product/system performance, work as part of a team contributing to team and individual targets, and regularly communicate with clients to ensure quality and standards are maintained.

Essential Responsibilities:
1. Research and investigate aspects of construction performance.
2. Assess fitness for purpose of products within contract periods and provide cost estimates.
3. Coordinate work and activities involved in assessments, including subcontracting work.
4. Carry out ongoing client support tasks, including assessment of factory surveillance reports.
Desired Skills & Technical Expertise:
* Degree/HND in relevant Engineering or Science discipline (such as Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering).
* Experience working with facades, cladding, curtain walling, and/or roofing.
* Experience in the construction industry, including materials like steel, concrete, timber; design, site, warranty companies, building control, product testing, fire engineering.
