Job Title: Senior Analyst, Mechanical Systems Engineering

Job Location: Mirabel, QC

Job Schedule: Day Shift

Essential Functions:

The candidate will work in the Mechanical Systems group for the military CF-18 and CT114 Programs. The candidate will play a key role in the mechanical systems and structures modification design, test and certification. The candidate will lead some of the activities necessary to assure continuing airworthiness of CF-18 fleet mechanical systems as delegated by Canadian Department of National Defense (DND).

1. Address maintenance snags and analyze them in relation to established design data, in-service experience and the resultant deterioration in the level of system safety;
2. Provide technical support and engineering disposition in order to restore the structural integrity and the systems performance of the damaged structures/systems. The solutions must be in accordance with the customer's requirements, military (MIL-STD or other), civil (FAR, TC), and / or corporate standards in place;
3. Develop/Review mechanical system modifications and installation work instructions, procedures and recommendations;
4. Identify discrepancies and/or problems with drawings before releasing to production and implements corrective action to ensure the timely release;
5. Validation of subsystem/equipment performance to specification via test;
6. Support/participate in integration tests on the system; develop test scripts;
7. Coordinate cross functional requirements communication and optimization;
8. Assist / Obtain / Grant regulatory approval for modifications/repairs performed on aircraft mechanical systems/components;
9. Provide detailed evaluation of the reliability impact of proposed design changes per ARP4761 and / or MIL-STD-882E;
10. Assess contributing factors of system safety and airworthiness degradations by launching a root cause analysis. Identify corrective actions to restore system Reliability;
11. Facilitate continuous improvement by recommending and implementing plans and approaches to reliability tasks to maximize compliance to requirements while yielding timely and accurate results;
12. Developing action plans to react quickly to unanticipated events as well as anticipate potential problems before they occur;
13. Monitor and communicate project status, business issues and significant developments;
14. Prepare and/or Review technical reports;
15. Actively work to improve daily processes, and ensures all work meets quality requirements;
16. Act as a mentor for junior level Engineers.

Qualifications:

17. Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical engineering, aeronautics or equivalent;
18. Minimum 10 years of experience in Aviation Mechanical Systems Engineering or equivalent;
19. Superior knowledge of one or more of the following aircraft systems: Fuel, Hydraulic, Ventilation, Equipment Cooling, Fire/Smoke detection, Oxygen, Bleed Air;
20. Strong technical writing skills including the ability to write reports in English;
21. Experience with the use of software such as: MS Office, Relex/Windchill is an asset, Cameo No Magic is an asset;
22. CAD experience (preferably with CATIA) a plus;
23. Knowledge of ISO/IEC 15288:2008 is a major asset;
24. Knowledge of MBSE SysML is a major asset;
25. Strong Communication skills.

Eligibility Criteria:

* Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;
* Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada Reliability status and Secret Level 2/NATO Secret security clearance;
* Must be eligible to meet the requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
