Dewey Group is currently recruiting for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to lead the commercial function on a landmark nuclear infrastructure project in Suffolk. This high-profile scheme is a cornerstone of the UK’s future landscape and offers a unique opportunity to take charge of cost and contract management on a complex, long-term project. As Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will oversee all commercial operations across ground engineering and civils packages, working alongside a team of experienced professionals to deliver high-value works to strict quality, safety, and budgetary targets. Key Responsibilities: * Lead and manage a commercial team, ensuring accurate cost control, procurement, and reporting across the project lifecycle. * Take responsibility for financial performance of multiple packages, including piling, groundworks, and reinforced concrete structures. * Prepare and maintain robust cost reports, forecasts, and contract documentation. * Oversee subcontractor procurement, valuations, payments, and final accounts. * Ensure compliance with NEC (or similar) contract conditions and manage risk effectively. * Support strategic decision-making with commercial insight and detailed analysis. * Maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and key stakeholders. * Guide and develop junior QS staff to maintain high standards and continuity. Essential Skills & Experience: * Extensive experience in a senior commercial role, ideally on large-scale infrastructure or civil engineering projects. * Strong background in piling, groundworks, or RC structures within regulated or complex environments. * In-depth knowledge of NEC contracts and industry-standard commercial practices. * Proven ability to manage teams and deliver high-value commercial outcomes. * Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills. Desirable: * Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent. * Chartered status (MRICS, MCInstCES, etc.). * Experience working on major public infrastructure projects. Why Dewey Group?
