Job summary

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated Resident Doctor in Oncology to join the expert medical team at Private Care at Guys, part of the renowned HCA Healthcare UK network.

In this pivotal role, you’ll work within a specialist oncology service managing both haematology and solid tumour cases. You’ll collaborate closely with world‑class consultants, oncology nurses, and multi‑disciplinary teams to deliver exceptional, patient‑centred care.

This is an outstanding opportunity to develop your oncology expertise in a state‑of‑the‑art private hospital setting that combines advanced technology, research innovation, and a strong focus on clinical excellence.


Main duties of the job

* Admission clerking and management of elective and semi‑elective patients
* Excellent communication with patients and consultants
* Working with the multidisciplinary team and as part of the resus team

Position Details

Location: London | Facility: Private Care at Guys, part of HCA Healthcare UK

Contract Type: Full‑time or Part‑time

Shifts: 1 x 24‑hour shift per week or 2 × 12‑hour shifts per week (weekends optional)

While we are a Consultant‑Led Service, we believe in empowering our Resident Doctors, so your role could expand as much as you wish. You’ll have the chance to be involved in audits, projects and quality improvement initiatives alongside the opportunity to join a variety of internal networks. This could be to help steer the services you deliver, speaking up or patient satisfaction focus groups, clinical governance or MDT meetings. Giving you an opportunity to network with your peers, share best practice and expand your knowledge in an unrivalled setting.


What you’ll bring

* Full GMC Registration and Licence to Practise in the UK
* Completion of Foundation Training, plus a minimum of IMT‑4 / Core Medical Training (CM4) or equivalent experience
* Full MRCP qualification
* Proven experience (minimum 4 years) managing oncology patients across haematology and solid tumour cases
* A commitment to teamwork, compassionate care, and delivering a first‑class patient experience
* Motivation to develop within the role as our cancer services continue to expand
