Reactive: Offer immediate support during behavioural incidents, helping pupils manage emotions, repair relationships, and return to learning calmly. You will help children understand their emotions, develop coping strategies, and build positive relationships with peers and staff. Key Responsibilities Deliver 1:1 mentoring to pupils needing additional behavioural or emotional support. Lead small group sessions to develop social skills, resilience, emotional regulation, and self-confidence. Support pupils in classrooms to maintain focus, engagement, and positive behaviour. Provide support during unstructured times such as lunchtimes, playtimes, and transitions, encouraging positive peer interactions. Calmly de-escalate challenging behaviour using restorative and trauma-informed approaches. Guide pupils after incidents to reflect, repair relationships, and develop strategies for the future. Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to implement individual behaviour support plans. Keep accurate records of interventions, incidents, and pupil progress. Promote empathy, restorative practices, and problem-solving skills among pupils. Uphold safeguarding policies and professional boundaries at all times.
