Press Setter / Operator

Up to £15.00 per hour (depending on experience)
39 hours per week – Monday to Thursday, 7:15am to 4:30pm

We’re currently working with a well-established manufacturing business in Redditch who are looking to recruit an experienced Press Setter / Operator to join their team.
This is a busy but well-organised press shop producing metal components for a range of industries. They’re looking for someone who is confident setting machines, understands tooling, and takes pride in keeping production running efficiently and to a high standard.
Key responsibilities
* Setting and operating mechanical and/or hydraulic presses
* Carrying out tool changes and machine set-ups
* Ensuring machines are running efficiently throughout the shift
* Completing first-off inspections and ongoing quality checks
* Working from engineering drawings and production specifications
* Identifying and resolving basic tooling or machine issues
* Supporting consistent output and meeting production targets
* Maintaining a safe, clean and organised work area
What we’re looking for
* Previous experience as a Press Setter or Press Operator
* Experience with progression and/or single-hit tooling
* Ability to read engineering drawings confidently
* Strong attention to detail and quality standards
* Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
* Reliable, practical approach with good problem-solving ability
Desirable experience
* RoSPA Power Press Safety Certificate or equivalent training
* FLT licence
* Background in automotive, aerospace or precision engineering
* Basic machine maintenance or fault-finding experience
