Accounts Senior - Study support if required Southampton £32,000 - £40,000 Butler Rose Public Practice are excited to be working with a leading Southampton based accountancy practice as they look to hire an Accounts Senior into their team. This is a unique opportunity for an AAT qualified Accounts Senior to step into a supervisory role. You will be completing hands on bookkeeping, VAT, and accounts work, whilst also reviewing the work of more junior staff and mentoring.

The ideal candidate will be AAT qualified with at least 4 years' experience working in a UK based accountancy practice. You will have excellent communication skills and be confident to supervise and mentor a small team of juniors. Moving forward you will have a huge opportunity for progression as you gain more experience with both clients and the team. Role Requirements - * Responsible for the preparation of accounts for a portfolio of clients including larger sole traders, partnerships and limited companies for manager or director review. * Discuss work required with the manager/director and communicate downwards to junior team members including time frame and budget * Ensure juniors' work is reviewed thoroughly and deadlines are set to be met. * Take on mentoring responsibilities, helping the more junior members of the team. * Reviewing data processed by juniors' and clear any queries brought upwards * Complete all sections of the accounts file and ensure all follow up points identified on review are dealt with * Deal directly with client to clarify outstanding matter * Utilise and plan junior staff effectively and oversee their work standard * Completion - playing an active part in assisting the manager in completing the file
Person Requirements - * You will have at least 4 years experience in a similar Accounts Senior / Accounts Assistant position, working for a UK firm of accountants. * AAT Qualified * Experience working with a portfolio of varied clients, completing VAT returns, annual tax self-assessments, and statutory accounts. * Excellent communication skills and the confidence to deal with clients and colleagues face to face and over the telephone. * Some experience reviewing more juniors team members work would be advantageous.
