The role: Sweet Cherry, recently awarded Small Press of the Year, is looking for a driven and creative individual to join our sales team in Leicester. We are looking for a quick learner who is an adaptable team player to execute creative and strategic B2C and B2B sales and marketing campaigns for our growing list of children’s books. This role is ideal for a salesperson or marketer looking for a fun new challenge to progress their career.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
● Planning and executing tiered marketing campaigns
● Planning, designing and scheduling a calendar of social media and blog content
● Working with bloggers and influencers to generate reviews and social media coverage
● Designing print and digital B2C and B2B promotional material (web banners, sell sheets, bookmarks, posters, stickers, etc.) using Adobe Photoshop and InDesign
● Scheduling price promotions on Amazon for books and e-books
● Scheduling and running promotions during key marketing seasons
● Pitching to sales and marketing accounts, either virtually or in-person
● Working with book clubs, groups and societies
● Coordinating regular book mailings to bloggers, reviewers, journalists, authors and illustrators
● Tracking marketing performance, ROI and goals and preparing monthly or quarterly reports
● Organising events and trade book fairs (and attending, if/when needed)
● Supporting the wider Sales Team with other administrative sales and marketing duties
Experience and Interests:
● Experience in marketing, advertising or key account management
● Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and InDesign
● Proficiency in Google Apps, including Sheets, Docs and Slides
● The ability to quickly pick up and work to various style guidelines
● Excellent communication and copywriting skills
● Previous website management, ideally WordPress
● Digital marketing and social media skills
● Knowledge of best practices in SEO
● Creative and out-of-the-box thinking
● Commercial awareness and drive
● An understanding of the children’s book markets
● A positive, can-do attitude and a team player
● A quick learner with the ability to work from your own initiative
