Job Summary
Manage the initiation and ongoing maintenance of mechanical services for catering equipment across the Trusts establishments, overseeing servicing, reactive repairs, deep cleaning, and asset registration. Lead water safety management in accordance with HTM 04‑01, including water safety plans, operational controls, audit risk assessments, sampling and monitoring to BS 8552, to mitigate the risk of waterborne disease.
Main Duties
* Initiate and manage effective maintenance of catering mechanical services, coordinating with catering management, subcontractors and contract review.
* Lead water safety compliance, implement and update water safety plans, conduct audits, sampling and monitoring under BS 8552.
* Maintain air‑conditioning and refrigeration assets and oversee hydro‑pool maintenance and testing.
* Follow national standards, guidelines and Trust operating policies.
* Collaborate with Senior Estates, Electrical, Compliance Officers and mechanical & electrical staff to ensure cost‑controlled maintenance and best value.

Person Specification
Essential
* Apprenticeship time‑served – relevant trade
* BETC/HNC/HND in relevant discipline
* Recent post‑qualification experience, preferably in healthcare
* Experience managing a team
* Mechanical installation and maintenance skills; familiarity with water & ventilation regulations
* Experience with large heating, hot water, ventilation, chillers and air conditioning systems
* Capability to propose alterations, new systems and improvements in line with regulations and HTM standards
* IT literacy and software proficiency
* Capital projects experience
Desirable
* City & Guilds & NVQ or equivalent trade certificate
* Specialised courses in HTM at postgraduate/diploma level
* Additional relevant trade experience
* Authorised person in any HTM discipline
* Ability to work independently or as part of a team
* Strong management and communication skills
