Role: Cleaner Streets Team Leader
Location: Bridgend (Communities Directorate)
Pay Rate: £13.26 per hour
Shift: Full Time (37 hours per week) | Monday - Sunday (as service dictates)
The Opportunity: Are you a natural leader with a "can-do" attitude? Do you have the drive to motivate a team while staying hands-on with the work? We are looking for a Cleaner Streets Team Leader to supervise our essential cleansing services.
This isn't just a supervisory desk job-you will be on the ground, driving your team to various locations and ensuring our waste removal operations (including new beach initiatives) are executed to perfection. If you have experience in front-line operations and a passion for the environment, this is your chance to lead.
Your Day-to-Day Leading from the front, you will:
* Drive Results: Transport your team to various locations throughout the County Borough. Driving License is required for this job
* Supervise & Execute: Oversee and assist in the removal of litter, fly-tipping, and graffiti using specialized equipment.
* Operational Control: Adjust work patterns and resources daily to accommodate service variations.
* Fleet & Resource Care: Ensure the safe keeping and proper use of council vehicles (up to 3.5T, DL required) and equipment.
* Technical Oversight: Supervise emergency responses to flooding or traffic accidents and manage traffic management setups.
What You Bring
* Leadership Experience: A proven track record of supervising staff in a front-line, operational service area.
* Cleansing Expertise: Prior experience in a cleansing role with a deep understanding of environmental standards.
* Qualifications: A full, clean driving licence and Traffic Management certification (to facilitate Chapter 8 installation).
* Communication: Excellent verbal skills; the ability to communicate in Welsh is a distinct advantage.
* Problem Solver: The ability to report abnormalities to the Foreman and keep accurate cleansing records.
