Are you a qualified Trainer or Assessor from a mechanical or electrical background looking for a stable, rewarding, and hands-on training role within the rail engineering sector?

We are currently recruiting for two Trainer / Assessors to join a purpose-built training academy near Nottingham, delivering a nationally recognised Mechanical and Electrical Installation Competency programme. This is a permanent position, offering long-term stability and clear development pathways within a growing training organisation.

You'll play a key role in upskilling the rail engineering workforce and supporting industry competency through structured, real-world training and practical assessments.

We are recruiting for two positions: one Mechanical-biased and one Electrical-biased Rail Engineering Trainer.

The Role:

1. Deliver engaging, hands-on training and practical assessments for small groups (6-10 learners).
2. Use real-world tooling and rail vehicle assembly rigs to train key competencies (e.g., torque tightening, earth bonding, cable looms, Harting connectors).
3. Guide learners in interpreting technical drawings and complying with safety and engineering standards.
4. Work with training documentation to support practical and knowledge-based assessments.
5. Maintain accurate training records and contribute to the development of course materials.

The Person:

* Experience as a Trainer, Assessor, or Instructor.
* Ideally holds an Assessor Qualification (e.g., TAQA, A1, D32/D33).
* NVQ / C&G Level 3 or higher in mechanical or electrical engineering.
* Rail industry experience (highly desirable).
* Strong communication and coaching skills with a passion for workforce development.

What's On Offer:

* Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per year (dependent on experience and qualifications).
* All travel and accommodation covered for off-site training delivery.
* Benefits include employer pension contributions and death-in-service insurance.
* Opportunity to grow with a forward-thinking, values-driven training provider.
* Continuous Professional Development.
* Long-term development opportunities within technical education and assessment.
