Location: BristolStart Date: After February half term Pay: £95–£105 per day (dependent on experience) Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (term-time only) Axcis Education is proud to be working in partnership with a specialist alternative provision in Bristol that supports Key Stage 4 pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and complex behavioural challenges. We are currently seeking a dedicated, resilient Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis from after February half term. About the Role As a Teaching Assistant within this alternative provision, you will: •Provide targeted 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEMH needs, helping them re-engage with education •Support the delivery of individualised learning and behaviour plans alongside teaching and pastoral staff •Use de-escalation techniques and positive behaviour strategies to manage challenging situations safely •Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, acting as a consistent and positive role model •Support pupils with emotional regulation, resilience, and personal development The Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who: •Has experience working with young people with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour, or within alternative provision settings •Is calm, empathetic, and resilient, with the ability to remain professional in challenging situations •Communicates effectively and works well as part of a multi-disciplinary team •Holds relevant training such as Team Teach or a Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification (desirable but not essential, as training can be provided) Why Join This Role? •A highly rewarding opportunity supporting some of the most vulnerable young people in education •A supportive, experienced, and collaborative staff team •Access to ongoing training and professional development through Axcis Education If you are passionate about making a real difference and supporting pupils with SEMH needs to succeed, we would love to hear from you.
