Position Overview
We are seeking a full‑time Clinical Lead Optometrist (Band 8A) to work at St Paul's Eye Unit.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver patient‑facing care with a focus on cataract assessment.
* Participate in the delivery and management of direct patient care.
* Undertake clinical audit, research and teaching/training as required.
* Coordinate service responsibilities to maintain timely, safe, quality care.
* Report to the Principal Optometrist and collaborate with a team of 5 Clinical Lead Optometrists and 20 Specialist Optometrists.
* May be involved in other Trust sites as necessary.
Qualifications
* Significant hospital experience in optometry.
* Higher optometry qualifications relevant to the role.
* Demonstrated leadership and team collaboration skills.
* Excellent communication and patient care abilities.
Location
Royal Liverpool University Hospital; may involve working at other Trust sites as necessary.
