Overview
Wood Machinist role at TieTalent. We are currently recruiting experienced Wood Machinists to join one of our clients, based in the Wakefield area. This is a straight permanent role with the company, for the right candidate.
This is a hands-on role involving traditional wood working equipment operating within a fast-paced, high-precision environment.
Responsibilities
* Operate spindle moulders, 4cutter, planer/thicknesser, dimension saws, and other precision joinery equipment
* Learn and operate beam saws and additional manual/CNC machinery
* Select the appropriate tools, machines, and settings for each task to ensure accuracy and efficiency
* Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workspace in compliance with health & safety standards
* Occasional forklift driving
Qualifications
* Previous experience in a machining or manufacturing role
* Individuals with a can-do attitude
* Strong logical and process-oriented thinking with good problem-solving ability
* Attention to detail with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable
* Health and safety qualification
* NVQ 2-3 in joinery
* Forklift certification
Hours, salary and benefits
* Hours are Monday to Thursday 07:00 - 16:30; Friday 07:00 - 13:00 (42 hours per week). Flexible to work overtime on weekends during peak periods.
