Opportunity for Auto Electrician in Business Vehicle Maintenance
An opportunity has arisen for an Auto Electrician with experience in a business vehicle maintenance environment to join a well-established transportation company. This full-time role offers a salary range of £34,000 - £44,000.
As an Auto Electrician, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining electronic systems in emergency service vehicles, including wiring, lighting, AV systems, telematics, and mobile CCTV. Training and mentoring will be provided to ensure you can deliver excellent service independently.
Responsibilities include:
1. Install Blue Light Systems in response vehicles, including programming, fault finding, and repairs.
2. Remove and decommission Blue Light Systems at the end of vehicle service.
3. Install radio communication systems across all Trust vehicles.
4. Decommission and remove radio communication systems from vehicles at end of use.
5. Install MDVS Systems in the full range of Trust vehicles.
6. Complete training and certification for MDVS installation and servicing.
7. Decommission and remove MDVS Systems when vehicles are retired.
8. Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in emergency vehicles, including lighting, sirens, communication equipment, and power systems.
What we are looking for:
* Previous experience as an Auto Electrician, Vehicle Electrician, MET Technician, or in a similar role.
* Experience in a business vehicle maintenance environment.
* Background in diagnosing and repairing vehicle electrical and mechanical systems.
* IMI Level 3 Diploma in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or an equivalent qualification.
* Understanding of mechanical and electrical maintenance and repair procedures.
* Familiarity with current vehicle maintenance methodologies.
* Valid UK/EU driving licence.
