If you have been called to the bar or are a qualified solicitor and are looking for a change of pace, you might be interested in the opportunity to become a valued law reporter. Our client is a prestigious legal publisher with an international readership, seeking a law reporter to attend hearings and record notes on significant judgements, summaries, and rulings.
The role requires initiative and confidence in liaising with management regarding case publication, time/resource allocation, and approval processes. Responsibilities include proofreading, editing, and formatting judgements into the in-house style, and maintaining communication with judges and court staff for publication approvals.
Essential skills include exceptional written and communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of legal judgements. The candidate must be a qualified solicitor or called to the bar (pupillage not necessary). The position offers flexibility, including court attendance when needed, and comes with excellent pension arrangements.
This role is ideal for someone called to the bar exploring alternative career paths or not currently seeking pupillage.
