<div><p>Mindspace is seeking motivated and experienced Young People’s Counsellors to join our established counselling service, delivering professional, supportive counselling within school settings across Perth City and Rural Perth & Kinross. This role involves supporting children and young people aged 10–18, with some work also supporting P6 and P7 pupils within the wider community.</p><h3>About Mindspace</h3><p>Mindspace is a community based mental health charity that supports and promotes mental wellbeing across the Perth & Kinross area. We are values driven, reflective in our practice, and committed to creating a supportive working environment for both service users and staff.</p><h3>About the Role</h3><p>As a Young People’s Counsellor, you will:</p><ul><li>Deliver a professional one to one counselling service within school settings</li><li>Provide counselling to children and young people presenting with a range of emotional and mental health needs</li><li>Undertake assessments, plan and deliver therapeutic interventions, and review progress</li><li>Maintain accurate and confidential case records, statistics, and school reporting documentation using Salesforce CRM</li><li>Practice in accordance with BACP ethical frameworks, safeguarding, and child protection procedures</li><li>Work closely with the Senior Counsellor to ensure consistent standards and service quality</li><li>Liaise appropriately with school staff, admin colleagues, and partner organisations</li><li>Attend wellbeing meetings and engage fully in supervision and reflective practice</li><li>Contribute to service development and ongoing improvement</li></ul><h3>Person Specification</h3><p>Essential:</p><ul><li>A recognised counselling diploma</li><li>Specialist training in counselling children and young people</li><li>Current membership of BACP or COSCA</li><li>Experience providing therapeutic counselling to children and young people</li><li>Ability to work within a recognised theoretical framework</li><li>Strong understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality, and child protection in youth or school settings</li><li>Good organisational skills and ability to manage a counselling caseload</li><li>Willingness to travel between schools as required</li></ul><p>Desirable:</p><ul><li>Experience of working within school environments</li><li>Experience liaising with partner agencies or multidisciplinary teams</li></ul><h3>What We Offer</h3><ul><li>Competitive salary</li><li>Paid supervision – 1.5 hours per month</li><li>Company Pension & Cycle to Work scheme</li><li>A supportive and experienced senior team</li><li>A role within a respected local charity where your skills and judgement are valued</li><li>The opportunity to make a meaningful difference to young people’s mental wellbeing</li></ul></div>
